Kia ora and welcome to Snells Beach Kindergarten
At Snells Beach Kindergaten our learning programme honours and extends children’s interests as well as topical events.
Experienced and local – We have a qualified, experienced and stable teaching team who have been together for a number of years. We live in the local community and love to take part in community activities.
Something for everyone – We are a very well resourced Kindergarten for both indoor and outdoor exploration. Our large playground provides many adventures and physical challenges which extend on children’s abilities and interests. Our children are passionate about outdoor play, fishing in our boat, enjoying our large sandpits and their creative art projects.
Skills and expertise – We’re passionate about children’s art, te ao Māori, our local coastal environment and getting involved in the community. Our teachers have done the Incredible Years training and are involved in the Engage progromme which supports children’s emotional competency.
Green fingers – We’re active gardeners at Snells Beach, where children care for, grow and try out a variety of our kindy-grown vegetables.
Bicultural connection – We have a weekly half hour te reo session with a bi-cultural specialist. Tamariki love being involved in kapa haka and performing for whānau audiences.
We know how to have fun! – Special occasions are what we do at Snells Beach and we do them well! Children look forward to our annual Pyjama Breakfast, our Glow in the Dark Party, various sports days, pet days and visiting entertainers.
In the neighbourhood – We love our neighbourhood and are involved in a number of community events such as the Snells Beach Garden Club Annual Flower Show. We celebrate Sea Week with a beach clean involving many of the children and their whānau.
Learning outside the classroom – We have regular educational excursions to local attractions and venture further afield, to places like Butterfly Creek, Auckland Zoo, the cultural performance at Auckland Museum and Kelly Tarltons.
Parent Whānau Group – We have a supportive and active Parent Whānau Group who fundraise for resources and organise social events. Parents are involved in consultation and make contributions to the programme. Children love the annual Wheel-a-thon and adults enjoy the annual Comedy Night fundrasier.
We welcome you to visit us, to see the magic for yourself and meet our wonderful team.
