During Term 3 Onehunga Kindergarten celebrated the longstanding tradition of the annual Trike-a-thon – an integral and beloved fundraiser event. It is an anticipated occasion that strengthens our kinship by congregating our community under one celebratory banner, cherishing the growth and development of our children. It creates a thread of continuity as past tamariki return to participate as junior track marshalls, reflecting on their own experiences while encouraging the future generation.

The event was graced by recognisable faces from our community, such as Police Constable Don and his police dog and other frequent figures of support. Our Parent Whānau Group at the helm of planning executed it with applause-worthy precision, increasing participation and ensuring seamless functionality.

The evolution of the Trike-a-thon into a mini fair introduced variety in the form of stalls offering used toys, games, face painting, and food tents.
