Diwali is the festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated with love, laughter and food. We made different rangoli patterns on the board. Children used different coloured rangoli powder to make different patterns.

The purpose of rangoli is to feel strength and generosity, and it is thought to bring good luck.

Rangoli patterns are traditionally drawn with the fingers using flour, rice grains or coloured chalk. Rangoli can be square, rectangular or circular – or a mix of all three. They are often symmetrical.
