We celebrated our 50th birthday with a gold-themed disco and picnic. A big thanks to Pandy from Community Engagement for being an amazing MC for the event, and her husband Nick Hawke who opened the event with a karakia. Board Chair Bruce McLachlan  spoke about the history of the Kindergarten and shared some humorous stories with everyone. GMs Toni and Richard from Support Services also came and supported us. Chrissy, our Area Leader, came nice and early to help us set up and we had a few giggles together while we set up.

Our neighbour who witnessed the kindergarten being built also attended and after the event she dropped in a lovely card to say thanks for inviting her. We had a great night with lots of happy children and their families and the feedback was very positive. We even managed to raise a little bit of money with a really well-supported raffle based on the gold theme. What a fun evening we had!
