Kia ora and welcome to Ellerslie Kindergarten

A place for everyone – Ellerslie Kindergarten is a place where all children thrive, while learning through play and developing a sense of mana.  Our learning environment is inclusive, nurturing and engaging for both children and their families.

All set for learning – Our goal is to prepare our children for the best start in their education, building a love of learning and the confidence to participate in the world around them.  Our wide range of activities and lovely open space invites children to learn through their interests and play.  We also foster leadership and encourage children to learn from each other.

Our values – We have four core values of Respect, Responsibility, Kindness and Bravery.  We also have a strong focus on sustainabiity and becoming a Kaitiaki (protector) of our land. In our play we promote Tuakana teina and team work to master new skills and encourage team work.  In looking after our environment, we promote a litter free lunch box and practice recycling.  We also have a worm farm that the children are supported to look after.

Specialist care – We have a highly skilled and passionate teaching team, who are all qualified and registered Early Childhood Education teachers.  Our programme is woven with Te Whaariki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum and supported by practices like the Incredible Years, to Support children with self-regulation and to build their social, emotional and academic competence.

Learning in the community – We have a strong working  relationship with our local schools. We have Playball, a sports based learning programme visit kindy every week, the children develop turn taking, listening and co-operation skills amongst many others, while having loads of fun!

Come in, meet us and join our learning community today.
