Here at Wesley Kindergarten, celebrations play a big part in our community and since we don’t have our whānau and tamariki, we decided to take the festivity to the street and decorated the kindergarten fence. We asked our whānau for permission to display tamariki photos dressed up as Santa and elves along side the fence.
We know that our tamariki love seeing their own photos and this will strengthen their sense of belonging while they are away. The community has been responding positively and we notice cars slowing down to admire the festive fence. We will share our sense of manaaki with families and tamariki by visiting their homes, dressed up as Santa and his helpers and delivering presents and Christmas fun packs, wishing them a “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”.
