Welcome to Bairds Kindergarten!

Bairds Kindergarten is inclusive, not-for-profit kindergarten. We care for tamariki aged 2-5 years old and offer 35 hours free every week for everyone. The diverse cultures of our staff, children and their whānau are valued. We are passionate about helping children to realise their full potential.

We have a passionate and dedicated Parent Whānau Support Group who meet regularly and work cohesively in partnership with the staff to provide amazing family events and engaging opportunities for the kindergarten community. Families are encouraged to be actively involved in the life of the kindergarten parent meetings, workshops, storypark, portfolios, scrapbooks, team meetings, school visits, trips, special events …

We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, which is why we find it important involve our families and community in our kindergarten environment.

With many current parents who attended the kindergarten when they were younger, their participation in their children’s education is important. This is why we have created whānau teams. Phoenix, Taniwhas and Sharks. These teams have really encouraged the families, children and teachers to work together.

Our fully qualified kaiako support young children with self-regulation and their social, emotional and academic competence.
