We boarded a bus and went off on an adventure to see a show at the Māngere Arts Centre by Tim Bray productions.

The show started with David in ‘The Witch in the Cherry tree’ story baking cakes in the kitchen with his mum and then after that story moved on to David finding  ‘A lion in the Meadow’. Then the Pirate Fish and Chips from the Pirate stories came and David trapped the magic leaf but then David thought they should let it go free to dance and instead of the leaf, out of the trunk popped a DOG!! A real dog!!

 It was all so well done and such fun. We all had a great time. It went so quickly, we had our photo with the wonderful cast and then we were back on the bus and back at kindergarten in time for lunch.

The show provided such amazing provocation for our observational drawing and it has continued through the weeks as the children revisit the stories and illustrations in Margaret Mahy’s fantastic stories.
