SUMMER IS HERE!

With high temperatures and summer school holidays, it’s a good time for a reminder about keeping children and yourself safe from sun damage.

Teaching children about SunSmart behaviors helps them to develop sun safe habits, that will protect them from the harmful damage of the sun and increased risks of skin cancer as adults.

Teach the children to avoid over-exposure by following, “Slip, Slop, Slap, Slide”.

Slip on a shirt with a collar and long sleeves

Slop on sunscreen – check the expiry date and that the sunscreen is at least 30 SPF

Slap on a broad-brimmed or bucket hat

Slide into some shade
