We have been capitalising on the natural fascination akonga have for the little creatures that inhabit our outside and sometimes inside world. Songs, stories, games and dramatisations at whole group times have been popular ways of bringing alive their different characteristics as well as the poetry and beauty these creatures bring to our lives.

Interpreting the visual aspects of little creatures through artistic pursuits, invites a more intimate inspection and an awareness of their individual features. It also provides opportunities for artists to hone their skills using a variety of mediums including modeling, mosaicing and felting.

Investigating creatures under the powerful lens of a digital microscope enables awesome discoveries and moments of wonder.

Next term we will be extending our creature experience by doing an excursion to Butterfly Creek.
