Beach Haven Kindergarten is a welcoming and inclusive space where tamariki, whānau, and the wider community come together to share knowledge, build relationships, and celebrate the joy of learning.
A Nurturing and Inspiring Environment: We have created a beautiful, homely and calming space that sparks tamariki natural curiosity and ignites their excitement for exploration. Our engaging play areas contain a wide variety of thoughtfully selected resources and every element is designed to foster a love of learning.
A Strong Commitment to Sustainability: We are a proud Green Gold Enviroschool Kindergarten, integrating environmental awareness and sustainable practices into our curriculum. We care about our gardens and use our produce to bake, and share kai with tamariki and whanau. Together, we nurture a respect for Papatuanuku/the natural world, care for our pets and each other, and empower future generations to be responsible kaitiaki/guardians of our place.
Celebrating our diverse community – We value and celebrate the diverse cultural tapestry of our community. We are committed to embedding bicultural practices into the learning environment, ensuring that all tamariki feel seen, heard, and valued. We celebrate the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and abilities of all tamariki within our community.
A passionate and experienced teaching team – Our kindergarten teachers have worked together for a number of years and have a strong connection to this community. We share a love of continuous learning and build strong and trusting relationships with tamariki, whānau, and the wider community, creating a safe and secure space where everyone feels valued and respected. The diverse range of cultures of our community are reflected in our teaching team, we speak a number of different languages including Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Uzbek, Farsi, Turkish, Japanese and Arabic.
Children lead their own learning – Kaiako are responsive and inclusive of tamariki ideas, and encourage and support them to lead their own learning and make decisions. When tamariki believe their actions can make a difference, they become more confident, engaged, and effective learners.
We welcome you to come and visit our kindergarten, we’d love to show you around and talk about all we can offer you and your tamariki.
