Aorere Kindergarten is the first AKA Kindergarten to do the Bronze reflection online. It was a very different experience for all of us to share our Enviroschools journey in a virtual space.

Throughout our presentation, we described how these three years of being an Enviroschools has been an incredible journey for the whole kindergarten. It shows that every little step matters and contributes towards developing skills and learning strategies to create a sustainable environment.

We became an Enviroschools kindergarten in 2019 and set a vision for ourselves and encouraged our whānau and wider community to support us with it.

Our empowering environment has enabled our tamariki to lead, initiate, investigate, plan and implement sustainable ideas to become kaitiaki for their whenua. Our people/whānau and wider community has been   actively participating in planning and organising the programmes for our tamariki to connect with the natural world in many ways.

We are glad to achieve the Bronze certificate and look forward to extending our journey to the next step.
