On the 21st of May we celebrated Pink Shirt Day at Titirangi Kindergarten. We raised $50 for the cause and our families loved that we took part.
The children made delicious pink cupcakes to celebrate the day, wore pink shirts and even received an anti-bullying certificate to recognise that they know to stand up and speak up!
Throughout the week we had been supporting anti-bullying week by making necklaces with “speak up and stand up”, and designed their own bright coloured cardboard t-shirts.
Teachers had discussions about what bullying behaviour looks like and what as children they can do to stop it through the use of Manaakitanga.
