Massey Kindergarten celebrated 50 years of nurturing tamariki, whānau, and community. The occasion was a chance to reflect on our shared journey, guided by our values of whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and kotahitanga.

Past and present whānau, tamariki, and kaiako came together to reconnect, share memories, and enjoy looking through old photos that our own Tracy had thoughtfully gathered and beautifully displayed. We were happy to have our life members, Chief Executive Pauline Winter, and AKA Board Chair Bruce McLachlan join us, adding to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the day.

Our speakers were introduced by kaiako Fara and included Bruce McLachlan, Leanne Mato, our Area Leader, Te Raumatianihau, our matua, and our Head Kaiako, Lauren. Our tamariki proudly sang a waiata tautoko after each speech, showing mana, confidence, respect, and a sense of belonging.

Whaea Kath closed the formalities with a karakia whakamutunga, and our tamariki led us in kai karakia before sharing kai together. The celebration included a beautifully crafted cake made by our talented in-house baker, Celine.

Ngā mihi nui to our community. Your aroha (love), tautoko (support), and mahi tahi (working together) ensure our kaupapa (purpose) continues to thrive for generations to come.
