This year Lincoln Heights Playgroup was invited to take part in the Recycled Art Exbition held at Lincoln Heights Primary School. We started by collecting objects to recycle – cardboard tubes, bottles, boxes and then encouraged the tamariki to paint them at Playgroup. When the painting was completed, our whanau began talking about ways to display our artwork and how we could reuse these items in the future. Our plastic bottles have been filled with glitter, shells and craft items and are displayed at eye level for our infants and toddlers to enjoy. Our parents also made a dream catcher using recycled ribbons, wool and wire and shared the ‘dreams’ they have for their children in the web.
