Children are engaged in science whenever they are learning about the world around them. Children LOVE bugs, insects and creepy crawlies and at this age, they are intuitively curious about the natural world and are ready to explore it with no bounds, fearlessly. With our current programme planning centred around children’s interest in bugs, we were lucky enough to have the “Bug Wrangler” Brian Lawton and his partner Tika from Hands on Creatures visit Summerland Kindergarten.

We got to see and hold reptiles, amphibians, insects, spiders and exotic creatures! It was a total sensory experience. We were amazed by how curious and unafraid the children were with everything, especially with the spiders.

We are sure that the children will use what they have learned and incorporate it within their learning interests.
