As a conclusion to our gardening focus, we made a stir fry out of our vegetables we grew.

We started with prepping our garden and then planting the seedlings. After some time and love and care by all, we had wonderful vegetables. From this beautiful garden to the tamariki hands.

I (Robert) cut up the vegetables really small and then pre boiled them. Next I cut up some onion, garlic, and ginger. I stir fried them a bit then added soy sauce, oyster sauce and some salt and pepper. The oil I used was sesame oil. I drained the vegetables while stir frying. Next I added the vegetables and stirred them around the wok sized pan for a few minutes and then added about a half a cup to  a cup of water to let it all boil, cook a bit to ensure the vegetables were soft. And there you have stir fried vegetables a la Robert!

It tasted awesome and the tamariki agreed. Those who had it wanted thirds, but there wasn’t enough.

It was great to hear that some whānau who had challenges when it came to their tamariki eating some of the vegetables, were surprised the tamariki had eaten it. A few whānau have even asked for the recipe!
