Oratia Kindergarten had an awesome visit from the NZ Police who supported our Tamariki to learn about how the Police support their communities. Some of our Tamariki had some previous stressful experiences involving the Police, so this was an opportunity to support children to develop a sense of confidence and safety with people who support us in our community. We learnt lots about road safety, bike safety, internet safety, phoning 111 if we need help, and we asked lots of great questions about what the Constables did in their roles as Community Constables. We got to try on some unform items, and sit in the Police car too! All in all, a wonderful educational visit!
