A number of years ago we were inspired by the Youtube video Caine’s Arcade. Willowbank School have an annual event based on this and in the ‘olden days’ we would always attend and be inspired. As a result we always have cardboard boxes of all sizes on hand for the children’s creations and role play. Their current interest is all about lava and these children chose a cardboard box as their safe haven – enveloping themselves in the box by shutting the lid and escaping the hot lava. Their excitement is palpable as they disappear inside the box and pull the top over themselves. Tomorrow the box might be something else again.
