Teddy Bear Hospital paid a visit to KiNZ Sandringham. The children brought their “sick” teddies in for treatment and some medicine. They got to use a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff and even an otoscope to look inside Teddy’s ears and even fix their teddy by using soft bandages, plasters and injections (without the needle!). The Teddy Bear Hospital is run by University of Auckland medical students for young children and their teddies. The aim is to help children feel comfortable and reduce their anxiety in a medical environment. Children learn about the world of medicine and health and how it affects them in a fun, friendly and safe environment.
