Congratulations to Aorere Kindergarten for receiving first place in the Eye on Nature art competition! The title of their art work was: “Toitú te whenua, whatungarongaro he tangata”, “The land remains when people have disappeared”. The above whakatauki resonates with their chosen project te Raupó. As man disappears from sight, the land will remain, demonstrating respect for Papatúánuku, the earth mother. No matter what changes te raupó goes through it continues to adapt and survive Támaki Makaurau changing environment, from draining out the whenua to settlement.
Congratulations team for your awesome work!
