At Howick Kindergarten, we love to honour our grandparents through special events like Grandparents Day, sharing Māori legends that feature grandparents, as well as through songs, art activities, and news sharing.

This year, we celebrated the grandparents in our lives by inviting them to spend some time at kindergarten with us. The children absolutely enjoyed showing them around the kindergarten. We also had some special songs we had been practising to show them and we enjoyed performing them for our special visitors.

It is always lovely to host whānau especially our grandparents who play such an important role in our lives. We also warmly welcome grandparents to spend time at the kindergarten whenever it’s convenient for them and to engage with us through Story Park. We will continue to nurture values that support our children by loving and appreciating their grandparents.
