Freedom to learn – At Māngere Bridge Kindergarten we celebrate the freedom to explore and discover through creativity and wonder. Our environment encourages tamariki to test ideas, to innovate, to problem find and problem solve. We value tamariki learning through risk and challenge, having the opportunity to lead, ask questions and take ownership of their learning. Our mahi as Kaiako is powered by the curious minds of our tamariki and their growing working theories of the world around them.

Learning on the farm – Ambury Farm is just over the back fence, and is where we have ‘Kindergarten at the farm’ every Monday. There, we embrace all the opportunities the experience brings, connecting us with taiao, making links to our community and learning about sustainability and the importance of manaaki whenua.

We’re an Enviroschool – As an Enviroschool, our commitment to care for our whenua is embedded in our practice and curriculum. We are conscious of the well-being of Papatūānuku, and work collectively to make active changes, and think how we can create a better future for our whenua therefore a better future for our tamariki.

Ready for school – We have great relationships with our local Kura, and through our own research have developed a strong transition programme that supports our tamariki and whānau.

We celebrate the beauty of diversity and appreciate that each tamaiti have their own unique kete of knowledge that we can learn and grow from as a community.

If this sounds like you and your whānau, and would like to experience the Kindergarten difference, get in touch and pop by for a visit!

  • WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING

When we were looking for a place for Ada to start her education journey, we looked at several early childhood providers but as soon as I walked in to the kindergarten my mind was made up. The environment was so calm, but yet full of very busy and engaged children. Being a very clingy mother’s girl, I felt anxious about her transition to Kindy however Ada immediately felt safe and engaged and said goodbye to me before we even got out of the car on the first day! Ada is making wonderful memories and friends at Kindy. The partnership with the farm is also an amazing opportunity. Mangere Bridge Kindergarten is a welcoming space with some many varied learning opportunities for the children. If you are considering it, I would highly recommend a visit!
