Over the past few weeks our focus was on birds and during this time we have discovered Silvia Durrant aka “The Bird Lady” who cares for lost, injured or sick birds on the North Shore. We were so impressed by the kindness, care and hard work she puts in to look after birds we decided to support her with our own fundraiser.

Sheena, our teacher and the children baked everyday at Kindergarten and sold packets of cookies to raise money to give to Silvia. Every person who entered the centre during the week donated some money and bought our special “Chocolate Cheep Cookies.” Some people even bought cookies every day, we baked double batches and had lots of pre-orders. We were blown away by the community support and we raised $214.50 for Silvia and the birds. What a great way to learn and teach our children that kindness grows from kindness.
